I need to share because I think you will relate: I found a mouse in
the spare bedroom last night. So I stayed up until 1 AM cleaning and unpacking
boxes. Then this morning I overslept and woke up at 7:45. No problem, I still
had time to let the sheep out into the yard and start work on time. Dale was
already in town having coffee and playing cards. I did something that I
haven't done all week and closed the door behind me. I didn't realize when he
left that he had locked the turn knob on the door. I generally use the
deadbolt so I didn't think twice about it. In my mind the door wasn't locked.
Wrong! I was locked out. Thank God it's Friday!
Dale is planning on getting some outside cats but at this time of
the year, the mice are sneaking in. The farmers are in the fields which sends
the mice running to the houses. I tried to catch the mouse. I ended up chasing it into the other room with the dogs. They didn't even see it run by their feet. Some help they are for catching a mouse.
Dale stopped what he was doing and came home to unlock the door for me. He was 25 minutes away. But there is so much outside work that needs to be done that I started working. If I was going to take my lunchtime early, at least it was going to be productive. At least Dale's day included driving back and forth to Watkins to get the final things that needed to be towed: fish houses and trailers. It wasn't a wasted trip for him either.
