This is a perfect day for lying around and not doing
anything. We had 6-8 inches of snow
before I got up this morning and it has been snowing hard all day. I can’t find my boots. I wonder if I threw them away last spring. They did have a small whole in the side but I
don’t throw things away. I guess I’m going to have to snow blow the place with
my tennis shoes on. Good thing it isn’t
a large area. Next trip to town is going
to purchase a pair of boots.
Naturally Flocked Christmas Tree |
For today, I am watching the snow fall outside my window
with great gusto announcing “Winter has come!”
“Get ready for Christmas!” There
is nothing more beautiful that a naturally flocked Christmas Tree. It also brings me memories of my mother
singing, “Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!” She usually sang loudly and quite out of
tune. I’m not sure if that was the only
way she could sing or if it was her way of joking around with us. She had quite a sense of humor.
As unusual as it was, I dreamt of her last night. It was a strange and peculiar dream. She had hit a patch of ice driving my car and
went into the ditch and into the water. I
woke up when I hit the cold water as I jumped in to grab her hand before she
went under. I decided to take the dream
as a warning and cancel my travel plans for the day.
Depth of Field makes all the difference. Here I focused on snowflakes near the tree. |
Depth of Field focusing on the snowflakes |
I love playing with my camera. I took some close up photos of the neighbor’s evergreen tree. The snow is coming down fast and thick. Then I took some pictures of the snow with the tree in the background. It is so beautiful! That is as long as you don’t need to go anywhere. I am not sure that I’m going to be able to get my car out of the driveway. They haven’t plowed the alley yet. Dale picked up Duchess with the pick-up earlier today. I guess that means I’d better get back to work.
