The second night that I went out with coworkers we went to a Japanese sushi restaurant named The Blue Fish. As we pulled up, they had complimentary valet parking. Unless you could find parking on the street, there was no option except to use the valet parking.

I was the designated driver. But that isn't a big deal since I rarely drink. My co-workers ordered hot sushi. The decanter and cups were so simple yet pretty that I had to take a photo.

Most places serve pink pickled ginger. But they served white pickled ginger next to the wasabi. I do not do a lot of spices but wasabi and ginger are two that I enjoy. They definitely clear the sinuses if you eat too much. :^)

While we waited for our food, I spent a lot of time looking at the tiles on the wall behind the sushi bar. They had created a mock aquarium and the lights sparkle off it to create the effect of moving water.

Being on a low carb diet, I was careful to find menu options that did not include carbs. My co-workers chose a wide variety of different kinds of sushi. I don't know the names of all of them. But I will show the photos below.

I did have one piece of sushi with Rice. In the photo below, I had one piece of Octopus (the one on the very left). Octopus is always cooked. It would not be edible if it wasn't cooked.

I saw the options for tempura and a small order sounded good. Except that I know the breading is very high in carbohydrates. I asked them if they could cook it without the flour. The manager came back and asked if they could dip it in the eggs then fry it. I ended up with one piece of shrimp, two pieces of white fish and a large scallop. It was a good color, texture and taste.

They have several selections that do not have rice other than the standard sashimi. I chose the Rock N Roll sushi. I need to admit that after biting into a piece of asparagus, I pulled the rest of them out. I didn't care for the texture and it's taste over took the taste of the cream cheese and crab mix. Or at least in the one that I ate the asparagus I didn't taste the cream cheese and the crab mix. I also asked for some seaweed and they brought several good size pieces. I like seaweed rolled up and dipped into soy sauce.

A Rock N Roll sushi contains eel, snow crab mix, cream cheese, asparagus, wrapped in Scottish Salmon, BAKED, finished with Volcano sauce, eel sauce and wasabi caviar. Yes this is a sushi that is prepared, baked and then finished with sauces and topping. It is rice free and low carb.
Yup, another "favorite" restaurant. What can I say other than I'm a bit of a foodie and even with the restriction of carbohydrates, I'm not having any problems getting good tasty food while traveling.
