Faith Circle
I saw this sign on my way home from work. I'm not sure if this is what the owner intends but it makes me think of wordless books and bracelets. They are intended to be conversation starters to share your faith in Jesus Christ.
Black-Sin Romans 3:23 (All have sinned)
Red-Blood John 1:7 (Jesus' blood covers all sin)
White-Pure Psalm 51:7 (Jesus washes away confessed sin)
Yellow-Heaven John 14:2 (Believe on Jesus and receive Eternal Life)
Green-Grow 2 Peter 3:18 (Grow in the knowledge of the Lord)
When someone asks about the bracelet you can say, "This is my faith bracelet. The black reminds me that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. The red reminds me that Christ shed his blood for my sins. The white reminds me that my confession of sins allows Jesus to wash them away. The yellow reminds me of the hope of our salvation and Eternal life in Heaven. The green reminds me that I need to continue to grow in my knowledge of the Lord."
The colors are brain ticklers to remind you of the essential points of sharing your faith. People who do well at memorizing can quote the verse and it's reference as they go around the beads.
I've heard it said that an early Christian as they were talking would trace in the sand an arch, half of the fish symbol. If the person they were talking to was also a Christian, another arch would be drawn to complete the fish as a sign to share their faith.
Here again is a sign on the side of the road to share your faith.

Is it really Green?
I don't believe everything I read. But cell phone coverage in my house is terrible. It should be easy for me to see if there is an improvement. I have zero proof that having one light bulb over another will make a difference in my medical condition. But I've never bought geraniums because I'm alergic to them. So why should I have a light bulb in my house that contains even trace levels of mercury in it when the murcury levels in my body are so high.
After much thought, my feet took me over to the local hardware store to buy several packs of new bulbs. But now what to do with the stack of light bulbs that I don't trust?
I am also concerned that in the marketing ploy to get sales many things are marketed as "green" that are not. Fabric made from bambo is one thing that comes to mind. I saw some at the state fair. It was so soft and nice looking. Then I did some research and found out that the process to change this fast growing tree into fabric is very caustic. I chose not to buy anything with bamboo fabric. In my mind, the costs out-weigh the green benefit.
What are your thoughts??

Get the Lead out...
…and the Mercury too. I have been doctoring for a couple of years with unusual aches and pains, fatigue, etc. all the symptoms common with Fibromyalgia. I wasn’t going to accept that as a diagnosis because all they do is treat the symptoms and medicate, medicate, medicate. I wanted to get to the cause of the problem. Thursday, April 12, 2012
Power Shopping
I also volunteer at small church as a bookkeeper. So every Wednesday evening, I go to a Bible study at that church. It is a forty minute drive away from my small town and I pass through a good sized town with a large variety of stores. So I have ninety minutes available to save money and get the necessities of life for that week.
It is a well thought out and choreographed routine. Starting on Thursdays for six days, I keep track of what I NEED to get. The list grows and shrinks throughout the week. Ninety minutes leaves 3 stops maximum. I path the track between stores that is most efficient. Sometimes I even write my lists in order of aisles at the store if I have a big list. (I do wonder if people think I'm a wild maniac racing through the stores.) By the end of the evening, I'm exhausted but feeling great! So much done in so little time.
Okay, So I can't say I totally don't like to shop. Just don't get me near a craft store. I need lists when I go into those too but for the opposite reason. I'd overspend my budget and need to find storage and I put my foot down at renting a storage locker because I bought too many craft items and they don't fit in my house anymore. :^)
Do you love to shop or avoid shopping unless absolutely necessary?
