Will the fishing pier survive?

Oh no! The heavy winds that broke up the ice this spring has damaged the fishing pier. It was designed with two heavy duty poles that went into the base of the lake. Each pole had another pole connected to the dock that slid over the base pole that allowed the dock to freely raise and fall with the water.

It appears as if the poles in the lake were either sheared off or ripped out.  This is one of the entrances for ice fishing in the winter and  landing boats in the summer.  But the boat landing has also had some natural damage.   The freezing and thawing of the shoreline has tilted and twisted the cement put down to help vehicles while landing the boats.

It will be interesting to see if they are able to fix this and how long it will take.
