And then they were gone

These pictures were from August 8th. From the time that they arrived, the purple martins were flying around the houses all day long. 

Within 5 days after I saw all the babies sitting on the houses, I noticed that most of the parents were gone. Every few days I've noticed that there are fewer and fewer young birds.

There is at least one bird in each of the housing groups.  So I  can't close them up for the fall yet. But at this point we are only seeing the few remaining birds at sunset.
