Veteran Blesses Veteran

Dale, Missy and Richard
Vietnam Veteran, Dale Grossinger along with Trisha Field donated a Fawn Female Doberman to Eagle’s Healing Nest in Sauk Center, Minnesota.  As a portion of their programs the Eagle’s Healing Nest receives donated puppies.  The residents apply to receive a puppy and as they are available they enter the program to begin raising their service dogs.

Every Monday is obedience training.  On designated Thursdays they have Patriot Assistance Dogs come in for more extensive training.  Each puppy starts with obedience training and then it goes through the Canine Good Citizen test.  Once it receives its certificate it is ready for the final training and testing to become a formal service dog.  The veterans train their own dogs which adds to their healing process.  Everyone who owns a dog knows and understands that dogs give pure love.  Caring for animals of every kind bring healing to the human soul.

Missy was one of two female fawn Dobermans in the litter.  She went through personality testing and was the perfect personality for a service dog.  She will become the service dog for Richard Ader.  Richard served in Afghanistan from 2009-2010.  This is one small way that we can say thank you for your service.

I would like to give a challenge to everyone that has a puppy litter: contact the Eagle’s Healing Nest and offer to donate one of your puppies to the program.  Together we can provide a service dog for every veteran in need.
