Many serious dancers either wear costumes or dress up. I have noticed watching the Mollie B Polka show that it is difficult to see yourself on TV unless you are dressed in something unique. But there are those that take it to the next level, they dress or dance in a fashion that says, "look at me!" I love it! :^)

Costumes abound! |
Below is an older couple that dresses fairly mellow. But they are always wearing unique hats and he wears the Mollie B towel across his backside. They also dance most of the time in the center of the dance floor. There is an area in front of the stage that has an emblem on the floor. Three camera's have the perfect view to that section of the floor and for that reason, people that want to be on TV will dance in that area.

We see this couple on TV all the time |
There was one man that has been at many of the Mollie B Polka Parties. He used to be a dance instructor and he has been having problems with his left leg and is temporarily required to wear a boot for protection. He came with the intention to watch and listen, but he just could not resist getting out on the dance floor periodically.

A bad leg won't stop a die hard from dancing |
Sorry that I didn't get better pictures of these two guys, but the guy with the bad leg above and with the blue shirt below look like they are brothers. I had to ask and the one told me that they are NOT related but they are friends that have known each other for 35 years.

Dancing is not always for married couples |
The man in the bright costume was dancing around the floor during a sing along when he stopped and decided to make sure that the audience at the edge was engaged in the activity. He really shouldn't be so shy.

He stopped dancing to encourage a sing along |
Another dancer that is at many of the Mollie B. Polka Parties is dancing with Mollie below. He has a different style of dancing. After watching him dance for awhile you realize that he loves to dance even though he doesn't do a traditional style Polka dance.

Many styles of Dancing |
His dance partner keeps up with him very well. It is fun to watch them because you never know quite what he is going to do.

Another couple that travels for the Polka Parties |
Do you need to test the jealousy factor in your relationship? Go to a Polka Party. As I noted above, that many non-married couples are dancing. One of the gentlemen that asked me to dance was married. His wife only likes to dance to a specific style of song and she is fine with him dancing with others when her favorite is not playing. Several people where badges that flash "ask me to dance".

Dance Partners |
Do you see the woman in sneakers? At first you think that it is strange seeing someone dressed so formally wearing sneakers. By the end of the day you realized that she rarely missed a dance and it was very smart. She dances a lot with the gentleman in these photos but not exclusively.
|
Dance Partners |
They are simply dance partners that live several states away from each other. They love to dance and are often at events at the same time. Even in the photos you can see the formality in their dance. They are a pleasure to watch dance whether they are dancing with each other or with others.

Dance Partners |
One thing that I've noticed going to the Mollie B Polka Party is that there are so many friendly people there and it is such a family atmosphere that it is more like a family reunion than a group of strangers getting together to enjoy Polka music and dance. Dale and I were sitting at a table for two and there was a table of two beside us. When they weren't on the dance floor, we were chatting back and forth.

Anyone who knows me knows that I don't remember names. But I remember the people. The gentleman below needed some help when others were walking away. Dale stopped and helped him and they became immediate friends. That is a common occurrence at the Mollie B Polka Party.
