I went to a spinning class this evening. It was a silk spinning class. It was absolutely fascinating!
Above is a hankie of silk. Below is about one cocoon of silk. That means it is one long fiber.
We learned how to work the layers of hankie into a roving so that it is ready to spin. It is very addicting!
I can't wait to Knit or crochet a scarf from my first hand spun silk!
