Popped Sweet Corn

Otherwise known has homemade corn nuts. But obviously my sweet corn is a lot smaller kernel then the actual ones sold in stores.

I preheated the pan for 2-3 minutes before putting the sweet corn in. I think I might have got just a little too much in.
Getting ready to pop sweetcorn ....
I had another complication. Just as the kernels started popping one of my dogs ask to go outside. Sometimes they can wait a few minutes. But this was a "mama now!" So I turned off the heat and headed to the door.
YUM! Popped Sweetcorn  :^)
I lost about 5% of the kernels because they did not cook. They look wet in this picture. But they are not. That is just what they look like after they've popped.

So if you're wondering how do you dry sweet corn? The best way to dry it without getting it moldy is to allow it to dry on the cob in the fall before it is picked. In other words dry it the same way field corn dries.
