Last night dad was taken to the ER with chest pains. It took until about 3AM for them to determine that it was a gall bladder attack.

We took the opportunity to tell dad that didn't need to take such dramatic steps to get us all together for a birthday party. His birthday is this Friday. They are treating it with medications for now but they are also planning surgery Tuesday or Wednesday.

As we drove out of town, we noticed how high the South Forks of the Crow River was and we stopped to check it out.

This was the first time that we saw the river high since the dam was removed. I remember seeing the water up as high as the bottom of the bridge. But it was the height of the dam that allowed the water to get that high.
