Remember the Sabbath

It sounds so fabulous!  A day to focus on God.  But it is he most difficult thing to do.  It used to be (when my mother was young) that Sundays were dedicated to going to church and visiting friends and relatives.  Very few businesses were open.

I remember as a child, that after church, Dad would make pancakes on the griddle and in the afternoon we would all take a nap.  Then things started to change. One by one, more stores stayed open on Sundays. It wasn't long until school activities started infiltrating that sacred day.

Now, our lives keep us running 7 days a week.  Getting a good 7-8 hours of sleep is almost impossible.  Back40 - Bringing back the old ways including slowing down in order to take time to focus on God.
Who is sticking his head out of the clouds?
A light in the storm chases our doubts away
