Puppy-palooza

Friday morning,  December 4th, Misty Blue started having her puppies. When I arrived home there were 11 puppies: 2 black (a male and a female), 2 red male, 2 blue male and 5 fawn (3 male and 2 female).  One person said that we have the perfect litter.  We are so excited to see all of the puppies.

Both Dale and I said that if she had a Fawn male that we would keep it.  She had 3 males so we will wait until the personality shows and choose one.  We will have the perfect family with all 4 colors of Dobermans.  The Blue puppies appear to be a lighter color than Misty.  I can't help but wonder if they will become darker with age.

The two red males are absolutely adorable.  One of the two was gone before it was born.  For a breeding fee, we exchange pick of the litter.  They had a neighbor that had been looking for a red male Doberman.  So we were excited to see that we ended up with two in the litter.

The black Dobermans were wiggling around too much to get a clear picture.  But have no fear, I will get better pictures as they get older.  Both of the black Dobermans were spoken for within the first 2-3 days.

Kelsey and Nickolai stopped by on Friday just after the puppies were born.  Kelsey put Nickolai's hat in the fenced in puppy area and several of the puppies nuzzled down into it.

Misty Blue is making suck a good mama.  She is constantly checking on all of the puppies.  She lets them crawl up and over her.  The poor girl - with 11 puppies she definitely spends a lot of time nursing.  She would let Dale and I crawl into the pen with her and snuggle up by the puppies.
