"Give us this day our daily bread..."

Does not mean that we are to load up only on bread and carbohydrate products.  Have you looked around at meals in a restaurant?  Thursday evening I needed to head up to church board meetings.  I left before I ate my afternoon snack. So I stopped at a fast food restaurant and ordered a $1 cheeseburger without the bun. I don't like fast food salads.  I've seen a few scary ones and there isn't much else on the menu that is low carb.

What is the truth and what is a lie?  It used to be an easy question to answer when we were young children.  We knew when we were telling the truth and when we were telling a lie.  The one thing we didn't understand was when others were telling us a lie.

For many years, officials have lied to us with good intentions.  A group of well being public officials got together and developed a "well-balanced" diet for Americans.  Periodically throughout the years, different groups have stepped in and made changes to the "well-balanced" diet.  As the years past, the new groups contained fewer politicians and more doctors and supposedly highly educated people in nutrition.

The problem is that the knowledge of good nutrition that was being taught was skewed by personal opinion and not necessarily by facts and studies.  The studies actually proved that the information being developed was wrong!  So studies were designed and developed that could be ambiguous enough to be twisted and skewed to prove their point.

For my entire life, I have been taught that low fat and moderate carbohydrates are good for us.  Society has taken that one step further and created some of the most delectable foods loaded with carbs.  Thousands of people following the standards set and taught across America as a healthy, well-balanced diet now find themselves categorized as obese with type 2 diabetes.

Not all people are the same and therefore we should not be given diets that are cookie cutter diets: one size fits all.  This evening for supper, I had a good salad, green beans, 2 small strips of cod (lightly breaded and deep fried), and 6 breaded deep fried shrimps.  That small amount of breading made my blood sugar take a huge leap.  It has been down to the high end of normal this week and one meal made it sky rocket.

There are some people that can eat carbs without any effect.  But many fewer people than actually do.  You see the truth that we were taught was an opinion that was taught for so long that people began to believe it until the truth was no longer visible, until the new version of the truth began to kill our society.  What other lies have been taught as truths in the brainwashing of America?
