It is Misty Blue's fault

What a day! At the end of the work day on Thursday, I had to take the dogs out for playtime then head to a business meeting. I packed up my computer bag and headed to the kitchen. It was still light outside so I didn't bother to turn on the kitchen light. My dress shoes were right where I left them in front of the dishwasher.

The part I didn't know was the Misty Blue, my nearly four month old puppy, had played fruit basket upset with my shoes.  It should have been a clue to me that the toe of the left shoe was tucked under the dishwasher's front lip. Looking straight down it was obviously a shoe for my left foot. I left them there, together so there was no thought near my head that they might not be a matching pair!

I did not notice in the car, I did not notice in the hay field with the dogs, I did not notice helping Dale put the ramps into the garage or the mower in the carport. I did not notice running into Office Depot. At the end of the board meeting my ADHD set in and I caught myself staring at my feet under the table. It was at that moment that I saw it! I had been wearing a mis-matched pair of shoes for 5 hours!

Yes, I shared the news with everyone at the meeting. They needed to lighten up a bit. And now, every one say it together, "Trisha, turn on the kitchen light and look at the shoes before you put them on!"

I guess in the end it was all my fault.
