Old Fashioned Garden

On Saturday, we only walked through the lower gardens in the area at the edge of the Mississippi River.  There are a lot more trees in that area and many of the flowers are those that do well in shade.

Many of the containers have already been prepared for winter but with flowers still blooming this one was still full of plants.

The purpose of the day was to take pictures of the fall colors.  We were thinking the changing colors of the trees. But I think the leaves are dropping as soon as they change this year because of the high winds with the weather fronts that have been coming through.


Color and texture despite the cold temperatures

There was still plenty of color and texture in the garden for our pictures.  You could easily visit the Munsinger Garden every couple of weeks and it would be different each time as the seasons change. 


Supported by donations

The gardens are supported by donations.  Local businesses, non-profits and individuals support the garden.  They have their own gift shop, greenhouses and support staff that keep the gardens weeded and sporting annuals as well as perennials.


Many well framed walkways

The walkways are absolutely beautiful whether you are walking on the paths or viewing them from close-up.  Periodically along the way are benches and swings for you to rest on.  I will share more pictures.  After all, the pictures say more than my words could share.
