Nurse-maid/ Stylist

I have spent several days working from my sisters house.  I am so glad that I have the job that I have at this point in life.  As long as I have access to the Internet, I can continue to work.  I need to have eight hours of productive time each day.  But it is flexible enough that I can be there for my sister in her time of need.

Max trying to find a new spot to rest.
Max in the picture above normally lays on her lap.  He is having the most difficulty this week dealing with not being able to sit on Tabatha's lap.  For the dogs this week with Tabatha resting the dogs have been doing two things: nap time and pet-me time. At this point he is thinking, "Mom, I'm here!  Pet me. Yup. I NEED some attention. Just move that hand a little bit more...just a little bit. Come on, just a little bit. You are laying there that must mean that it is time for me to get petted."

One of the difficult parts of this week was when unexpectedly the incision started draining.  It was four days after the surgery and it was the first time that it started draining.  The first reaction was "did a staple come out and were we going to need to take her to the hospital."  We did the right thing and found an absorbent pad to go under the abdominal corset that they have her wearing.  She started going into shock a little bit getting cold, clammy and then it led into hot flashes.

Before
Drenched by a few hot flashes, she was getting frustrated that her hair was making things worse.  Starting in steps, she showed me a few style's on the Internet that she liked.  I'm guessing that she will go at least half an inch shorter next month.  For those that don't know me, I am a trained cosmetologist/stylist.  Do not try this at home.

After
I used my raiser instead of my scissors to give her a more textured, airy look.  She hasn't had bangs in quite a few years.  I really like her with bangs. We have a bit of natural curl in the family and I've seen articles that claim that women's hair will make a change from major hormonal changes in their lives.  It is seen most with women that are pregnant.  Tabatha has fine, thick hair that curls well and minutes later loses the curl unless it is stiff with product.  Today I saw signs of rouge curls.  Doesn't she look beautiful in her new cut?
