When you wish upon a star

Makes no difference who you are
Anything your heart desires
Will come to you

The Disney songs and music from when I was young were so encouraging and uplifting.  Some of my earliest memories come from story books on record.  My mother had gotten a special deal somewhere.  She bought a huge stack of these storybooks that in the back cover was a spot that you slid the record.

When we were sick, really really sick, she would go to the hiding spot (in the back of her closet) to get a new story. Mom knew how to turn difficult days and difficult times into something positive.

I look around at the children today and they have so much around them.  Every generation is given a name like "the ME generation". So what is this generation? The entitlement generation?  What could parents possibly do to make a sick day a special day instead?

What did Disney teach us?
1. Dare to wish!
2. It is meant for everyone.
3. You need to know your heart. You can do anything you set your heart and mind to doing.
4. It will come to you?!?! God tells us that he will give us the desires of our heart.  I guess Disney understood that part of it. Do you?
