A mountain top experience

I'd love to live on a mountain top; fellowshipping with the Lord! Those words are from a song sang by Amy Grant.  I understand the concept of wanting an experience where you are alone with God.  There is a false concept that being up high is somehow going to get you closer to God.

Although the beauty of the mountain top is spectacular, it is baron, cold even in the summer, and extremely rough terrain.  Even the most fit and expertly trained person has a difficult time making it to the top of the mountain.  Then when they get there, they see a moment of breathtaking grandeur in the baron surroundings with nothing to sustain themselves other than what they have brought with them.

I believe the song that God would sing is more like, "I'd love to live on the plains of life, walking beside you, holding your hand, lifting you up when you fall down. You are my love my everything; let me treat you like my Queen and treat me like your King. I have created the beauty you adore for your perfect pleasure."

If you look closely, you can see the ships in the harbor in the photo above.  Is that how we look like to God?  I don't think so.  I think God is with us, Emmanuel.
