Decisions, decisions

Each winter I plan for one or two summer projects. One is usually a small home improvement.  This year I was planning on adding a fence to the yard so that I can easily let the dogs out.  It is safer for them and less of a hassle for me.

Then I thought, "Why should I put up a fence to take it down in a couple of years when I put up a garage?"  For those that have been following along know that I've paid off my main house mortgage in December.  I have just under two years left on my other mortgage if I apply both payments together.

Somewhere in the back of my head, I was tossing around the idea of re-doing my roof this summer and in a couple of years when the house was paid off, I would put up a detached garage.

Now I am thinking that maybe it makes more sense to put up the garage this year along with shingling the house and putting up the fence. I need to present the project to the city planning commission and also to the bank.

Time will tell if do all of it this year or only part of it.
