A Dizzy Blonde

Quite literally, I was a dizzy blonde today.
I was born a strawberry blonde, growing up it changed to dishwater blonde and now it is eeking over to a white-blonde.  I could use chemicals to change any part of that but I get so many compliments about my hair color that why mess up a good thing.  Besides, if someone can’t handle the gentle “frosting” it is their problem.  I’ve never had a problem with that (I reserve the right to change my mind as it get’s worse.)
I was sitting at the lunch table with the rest of the students.  Whomp! It hit me like a ton of bricks!  Suddenly the room started spinning.  I was over half done with my lunch and I was thinking that I wasn’t going to be able to finish eating.  I barely finished and graciously asked Lora if she would be willing to take my plate and tray with hers to the dirty dish window.
I carefully got up and started walking.  I can’t help but wonder how many people thought I was drunk.  I haven’t swayed and stumbled that much since I got off the cruise ship in Rome.  The funny think was a group of guys from class stayed up last night playing drinking games and I was the one walking like a drunk.  Going through my mind was, “What in the world is causing this vertigo? And why is it so drastic?” To get back to the classroom was NOT a short walk by any means.  I also needed to go to the company store and stop by my car.  I walked very cautiously and methodically back to the class room.  Some other students came beside me and walked about halfway back with me as we laughed about my inability to walk in a straight line.
Through the afternoon I figured out that my right ear had filled with liquid.  The portion of the inner ear that controls the equilibrium must have been affected.  For safely sake, I had Lora drive me back to the hotel in my car after class.
This evening my sister told me that she had to write for her English class.  The topic was to write about someone successful.  She chose to write about a successful comedian couple, George Burns and Gracie Allen. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gracie_Allen
Gracie played the original “dizzy-ditsy blonde” that both my sister and I have loved to watch on TV since we were very young.  It was obviously in re-runs as Gracie died 7 weeks (49 days) before I was born.  Although I do NOT believe in reincarnation, I must say there are days that I could sell people on the fact that I was a reincarnated Gracie!  She died at age 69; the beautiful blonde whose comedy brought such laughter to this world.
