God's Heart of Gold

"The Holy Place" Anyone could enter but it was done with great respect and awe. This was the area meant for worship.  The curtain gained a new color: yellow to symbolize gold (purchase).

Replica's of Showbread Table and Menorah
The cross beam of the cross held the bread of life and the  light of the world.

To the right was the table of showbread. With two ornamental crowns (as Jesus sits at the right hand of God). On top were twelve cakes or unleavened breads in two stacks. (The bread of Life.)  Each Sabbath the priests were to place twelve new cakes. They were to eat the old ones. Hmm. They were directed to work on the Sabbath - God's work.

To the left was a Menorah, a seven-branched candlestick, with its seven lamps.  It was one solid piece of gold. The lamps were never all extinguished at one time. (Jesus is the Light of the world.)
Immediately before the veil of the Holy of holies was an alter of incense the fire was kept continually burning.  The incense was a way to worship God as well as an extra protection needed between sinful men and God.

The priests job was to keep oil in the lamps, keep the fire going for the incense and to weekly provide fresh bread. The heart of God seeks a relationship with us; to celebrate with us in the Light of the World; to share with us the bread of life and in return receive our fragrant worship.
