Best Laid Plans

I had a really nice design in my head for increasing the curb appeal of my place. But when I got the new garden almost done, I realized that just putting a new staircase on the side would not do it justice.
Therefore I changed my mind.  I am going to put a deck out the side door. Nothing fancy, 7 feet wide and 16 feet long.  It will  be at least 3 feet wider than the garden and just as long but in the opposite direction.  It won't be put on until next year.  Depending on the building materials it will cost between $900-$1200 dollars.  Since curb appeal is nice but not needed, I am going to save up for it.  It will change how much of the pathway I choose to cement.

I will need two sets of steps down.  At this time, I am thinking North and South with a railing on the East.   I reserve the right to change my mind.

New Garden Left; Deck to come out over the steps all the way down to the right of the picture.

Dale was digging out a stump for a neighbor he put it in the garden (possibly as a joke).  It really looks nice there.  I love the texture and color contrast that it adds.

Looking at this, I am leaning towards putting steps around the corner by the door (wonder how hard that is?) And putting a railing where the stairs to the right is.  I guess I have a year to decide unless God blesses me with a windfall.  Which he has been known to do.  :^)
